About Us
Social Sisters Society was founded by two Australian expats now living as digital nomads in Thailand. Like so many others who’ve made this leap, we quickly discovered that for all the freedom this lifestyle offers, genuine in-person connection can be surprisingly hard to come by, and no screen can replace it.
The research is clear, real face-to-face connection is one of the most powerful things we can do for our wellbeing. FaceTime and Zoom keep us in touch, but they don’t give us the warmth, energy and sense of belonging that comes from actually being in the same room with someone. That feeling matters, especially for women.
When you’re new somewhere, building that circle from scratch is genuinely quite challenging. Making friends as an adult, in a new country, takes time and the right opportunities.
When it comes to initiating that first interaction, women are often more hesitant to break the ice with a stranger than men are. Where a guy might easily strike up a conversation at the gym or a bar, women tend to hold back. A purpose-built women-only setting changes that dynamic entirely, making it easier to show up, relax and enjoy the companionship.
That’s exactly why Social Sisters Society was born, to help women in Thailand find and build real friendships with other women seeking genuine connection.
We believe women thrive when they can share experiences, support each other and have shared bonds. Through regular in-person social activities, we hope to help every member nurture a healthy mind, body and soul.
At Social Sisters Society, we create activities that open doors to interaction, movement, discovery and joy, because it’s these shared experiences that bring us closer together, and create memories and friendships that will last a lifetime.
